Michelin Cargo XBIB Heavy Duty Tyre Announcement

Michelin Cargo XBIB Heavy Duty Tyre Announcement

Without a doubt, one of the key benefits of the new Michelin Cargo HD is their ability to not get bogged down! There has been a huge amount of techncial design put into the tread pattern; innovative diagonal channels efficiently squeeze mud away from the centre of the tyre before ultra wide shoulder channels disperse it away at low speeds. At higher speeds and therefore with the aid of centrifugal force, longitudinal channels fling mud away with ease.

In addition, ingenious break points in the tread base actually prevent mud from sticking in the tread in the first place.

How does it feel to use? Testing with customers across a very wide range of real world applications reveal the Cargo HD to benefit from increased manoeuvrability, increased stability (especially during load dumping), and those massively rounded tyre shoulders reduce tyre wear rates dramatically.

Sounds expensive? Michelin have positioned the Cargo HD well within the realms of standard tyre pricing and not in the "designer tyres" bracket. What's not to love?

“Hopping back to the future”: the new Trelleborg 3D animated movie

“Hopping back to the future”: the new Trelleborg 3D animated movie

Trelleborg has launched a new 3D animated movie which is available on YouTube via its social media channel, TrelleborgAgri.

The film, created using sophisticated 3D animation techniques, tells the life story of a smart cricket that starts his own agricultural business. The story, which begins in 1955, follows the cricket ‘farmer’ through the ages, following his journey as he comes face-to-face with evolving tractor technologies.
‘Hopping’ to the nineties, we see the cricket take a ride on a high-speed modern tractor, enjoying premium comfort and efficiency as he travels along the road on Trelleborg XL tyres.
Finally, the cricket finds himself back in the present day, with his farm surrounded by sustainable agricultural cultivations and technologies.

“After watching the adventures of our new animated character, we hope audiences appreciate the strong contribution and role of Trelleborg as an innovator in agriculture history,” says Lorenzo Ciferri, Marketing Director, Agricultural & Forestry Tyres at Trelleborg Wheel Systems. “Our 3D film will allow our customers to experience an amazing journey and look at the performance of Trelleborg products from a totally different perspective. We wanted to bring advanced and modern entertainment tools into our business, with a goal of sharing the Trelleborg vision for the future of agriculture with farmers and contractors,” concludes Ciferri.

Trelleborg continues its sustainable journey with the TM3000

Trelleborg continues its sustainable journey with the TM3000

First showcased at SIMA 2013 in Paris, the TM3000 is making great strides in improving crop yields while respecting the soil. Designed according to Trelleborg’s innovative technology, this inspiring range is the answer to the latest and future generations of harvesters and combine machines.

Key to increasing productivity is a new tread pattern combined with an advanced carcass design, both of which help to maximise load capacity at low inflation pressure. Featuring lugs with a rounded base, sharper inclination and larger base diameter, the design improves manoeuvrability, stability on slopes and offers better support for combine steering. What’s more, inter-lug terracing maximises the TM3000’s self-cleaning abilities.

In addition, a 5% wider footprint provides better flotation than its competitors to significantly reduce soil compaction. In this way compression damage to organic life is minimised, underscoring Trelleborg’s environmentally friendly approach – at the same time as giving farmers another way to increase profitability.

“TM3000 is Trelleborg’s answer to the latest generation of harvesters and combine machines,” says John Westwood, Managing Director, Trelleborg Wheel Systems UK. “We’re phasing in three more TM3000 sizes this year which we’ll be revealing at Cereals 2013. And moving forward, we’re continually developing new solutions that put less strain on natural resources and make it easier to farm more sustainably.”

“Matching today’s farming approaches, the TM3000 is the right choice for professionals looking to increase productivity and lower operating costs, while looking after the safety and comfort of their operators.” concludes Westwood.
