Kevin Haxell, Fieldens’ ATV workshop manager at Starhouse, has become Honda’s first Master Technician for ATVs. As a Master Technician Kevin joined an elite group of just 23 Honda Technicians nationwide, 22 of which work for car dealers and just one, specialising in outboard motors, for Power Equipment division dealers.
The rigorous assessment which tested Kevin’s trouble shooting abilities across the whole range of Honda ATVs took place at Honda’s training centre near Heathrow Airport. Here he was presented with six complex faults to diagnose and then present solutions to the assessor. “We were very pleased that he passed with honours the requisite five out of the six tasks enabling him to use the prestigious title Master Technician” explains Honda’s John Mesger Schofield.
Kevin, now 30 started working for Fieldens on Saturdays when still at school. Over the years he has risen through the ranks to become one of Fielden’s most experienced technicians. “We take staff training very seriously”, reports Dealer Principal David Williams. “I’m delighted Kevin has reached this level of achievement. It reflects well on our other staff and the level of support we offer our customers”.
