In 1986 I started work as an apprentice mechanic at my local Renault dealership attending RTT Mendlesham then Ipswich College and qualified with several City and Guilds qualifications.
In 1994 I joined Fieldens in the Honda department as a mechanic. I later on took the position of engineer in the metalwork workshop. I continued my training at West Suffolk college for a further 3 years gaining EMFEC levels 1,2 and 3 in MMA, MAG and TAG welding/fabrication processes in the flat, vertical and overhead position. During this time I also gained NVQ qualifications in mechanical engineering and production.
In 2002 I left Fieldens PLC to work for BP, but returned in 2004, two years after Neil had bought the business. Fieldens soon invested in two XYZ CNC Machine Centres giving engineering faster production times, more precise tolerances and the scope to take on new metalwork challenges that few other companies in our industry could manage. I have been trained on the XYZ1610VMC with Siemens 810D Shopmill control and CAD programming on the Siemens control at XYZ’s training facility in Nuneaton.
My personal interests include motorcycles, live music and cinema.
